The Word of God is...

Divine Wisdom

O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom you have made them all: the earth is full of your riches.

We speak the Word of the Lord and realize that it is the Light of the World showing us the deep nature of all things and pushing back the darkness.  Dabhar, the Word, is Light and Wisdom.

Any of us can learn at the feet of Wisdom.  This is not an exercise of the mind.  Wisdom is the embodiment of the Word of God through our actions and lives.

There are four pillars we have to build up in our lives to walk in the footsteps of wisdom (Proverbs 1:2-7).

  • Pillar of Righteousness (Via Positivity) is Humble, Universalist, Trusting, and Holy through living out our Royal Personhood.
  • Pillar of Equity (Via Negativa) is "fairness or justice in the way people are treated (Merriam-Webster)," because we know we have no separate self and are inclined to unity and harmony.
  • Pillar of Wise Behavior (Via Creativa) is gained through practice and insight.  It is a deep wisdom that arises within us.
  • Pillar of Justice (Via Transformativa)

Righteousness is not legalism, it is living the commandment of Jesus, "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48)."  Perfect means finished, lacking nothing necessary to completeness, and integrity.  We do this through the strengthening our minds and spirits through meditation, mindfulness, and walking the middle way.  This is the foundation on which all wisdom is built.

In the silence of meditation we listen for Wisdom's Cry.  "Does not wisdom call, And understanding lift up her voice?  On top of the heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, she takes her stand;  Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out (Proverbs 8:1-3):" so learn to discern the Voice of the Spirit of Wisdom in those still silent moments.

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. Now therefore hearken unto me, O you children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
— Pr 8:22-32

The world is full of the Wisdom of God.  How amazing is this world that we can explore it through science and reason, art and music, or awe and contemplation.

Every day, we filter our world through the words we use and the perspectives we have adopted.  We all have faith in something.  It is the frame, the medium, that allows us to find our place in the world.
